Allergische Erkrankungen
Hymenoptera venom allergy is usually a bee or wasp sting allergy.
Drug allergies are less frequent among children compared to adults.
Urticaria is a condition characterized by itchy hives or wheals. It can be acute or chronic.
Atopic dermatitis (eczema) is most of the time a genetic defect of the skin barrier.
Food allergy is marked by symptoms which mostly occur soon after exposure to food.
Allergic rhinoconjunctivits (hay fever) is marked by itching and watering of the eye, sneezing, nasal discharge and congestion.
Allergic asthma is marked by symptoms like difficulty breathing, coughing and wheezing, triggered by inhalant allergens.

Spirometry can be performed among children starting from 4 to 5 years of age.
A prick test can already be conducted on small babies.
Blood test with measurement of specific IgE
Exhaled nitric oxide is elevated by allergic airway inflammation.
To evaluate whether a sensitization to pollen or house dust mite has a clinical relevance
To differentiate between a sensitization without clinical relevance and a food allergy, often a food challenge is performed
