Hymenoptera venom allergy is usually a bee or wasp sting allergy. Allergy to bumblebee or hornet sting occurs less frequently. As soon as a patient not only reacts locally on the sting site, but on the whole body involving the respiratory or cardiovascular system, it is necessary to measure the specific IgE ​​and provide them with an emergency kit (for severe reactions, including adrenaline auto-injector). In these cases, a specific immunotherapy with bee or wasp venom should also be considered, as protection is achieved in 85% of patients with bee sting allergy and in 95% of patients with wasp sting allergy.
